The Center for International Projects is an organizational unit of the Faculty of Maritime Studies, which aims to strengthen the accumulation capacity of the faculty in relation to international projects and the use of research and development programs of the European Union.


DESCRIPTION OF THE CENTER

The Center for International Projects provides advisory and administrative assistance. It provides assistance and support in the preparation and implementation of international projects, an appropriate level of monitoring of project financing programs, information on project application, maintains a register of projects and monitors the status of projects.

MISSION OF THE CENTER

The mission of the Center for International Projects is to provide a stable starting point where the application process is monitored in an appropriate manner. The application procedure is monitored and the scientific staff is relieved of administrative activities.

GOALS OF THE CENTER

The main goal of the Center for International Projects is to provide institutional support in project application and implementation, coordination with all organizational units of the faculty to ensure high quality of applied projects and thus raise the capacity of scientific research and teaching activities.

This leads to additional goals:

  • monitoring relevant programs within which it is possible to apply for projects to connect students with employers in order to facilitate job search and career development;
  • publishing an overview of available programs, published tenders and announcements for the next period;
  • advising teachers and associates on the compliance of the project idea with the program;
  • keeping a register of projects;
  • reporting on project statuses;
  • coordination with accounting during the preparation of accounting records (account cards);
  • coordination with the Center for EU Projects of the University of Rijeka;
  • participation in information workshops related to project preparation;
  • updating data on the website of the faculty and on international project databases.

CENTER ACTIVITIES

  • Advising during the preparation of the project proposal, including advising on the preparation of project documentation: understanding the structure of the application form and the links with the objectives of the program, understanding the eligibility of costs, etc.
  • Advising on the acceptability of the project topic in relation to the objectives of the program.
  • Providing expert support in finding suitable partners for joint project application.
  • Collection of documentation and reference lists required for the project application and delivery to the applicant (declaration form, declaration of state aid, declaration of VAT, letter of intent, etc.).
  • Support in the preparation of financing agreements and partnership agreements.
  • Preparation of a report on the implementation of the project with all the accompanying activities.
  • Generating reports and entering data via electronic / web platforms in accordance with the rules of the program.
  • Keeping and ensuring the availability of reports and other documentation.
  • Presentation of the faculty and the results of the Center for International Projects to the scientific community as well as to all interested future students, employers and the wider community.
