MARITIME ENGLISH WRITTEN EXAM

OOW 500 DECK OR MORE (STCW 95)

(Candidates have 3 hours to complete the test)

The criteria used by the examiners in awarding marks are:

-         task achievement

-         appropriate register

-         right choice of terms.

Handwriting that interferes with communications but does not prevent it, is penalised. If the candidate’s answer is totally illegible, the candidate receives 0.

Although each part of the test has a different number of marks, they are equally important to pass the exam. Each question carries equal mark.

A candidate needs to get  60% of the total score to pass the exam.

Coursebooks and manuals  are not allowed during the exam.
