Dear colleagues, students and friends,
This is a second announcement and call for contributions for the 2024 My First Conference (MFC).
As you already know, the event will be held at the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Rijeka on 19 September, 2024. In this announcement, we brought you some news reflecting program contents.
So far, we have two keynote lectures confirmed. You will learn about recent research achievements in usage of non-invasive biometric sensors for psychophysiological responses assessment, monitored during disturbed navigation scenarios. The other keynote provides an insight into features of voyage planning development algorithms generated by combining global path planning solutions and traditional, human-centric navigational planning.
Further, we prepared an interactive participation in two workshops, during which you can learn and experiment with modelling and simulation, as well as to try out new language technologies in written communication.
Finally, and most important, we are really glad that your submissions started to arrive.
More details you can kindly find here as well as on the conference website. We will continue to build-up the conference program based on updated information and your abstracts. There is more content to come!
About the Conference and useful information
The conference aims at PhD as well as graduate students, and it provides an opportunity for presentation of research activities and results to their colleagues and other students. One of the conference objectives is networking, and making new acquaintances from a similar or the same professional environment, and research interests.
A suitable contribution is an abstract in the thematic area of engineering and technology which reflects your research, and it is prepared in a convenient way for the presentation at the conference. Optionally, you can develop your work in the form of full paper and submit it to one of our accompanying journals (Engineering Review and Pomorstvo - Scientific Journal of Maritime Research), indexed in WOSCC and Scopus citation databases.
The conference has no registration or other costs, and the official language is English.
This, 8th edition of the MFC event is jointly organised by the Faculty of Maritime Studies, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Faculty of Engineering, University of Rijeka. You are more than welcome to join us. Please bear in mind that the deadline for registration, i.e. abstract submission is 1 July, 2024.
