Dear PhD students in the IAMU Member Universities,
The World Maritime University (WMU) offers a range of PhD Elective Subjects which may benefit the current PhD students in the IAMU Member Universities, with limited seats availability and conditions which may be applied.
This year, WMU will launch a gender-related training course, called “Women’s Leadership and Empowerment Training”, in collaboration with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) (https://www.imo.org/en/MediaCentre/Pages/%20WhatsNew-2246.aspx). A limited number of seats are open for PhD students to enroll one of the two PhD Elective Subjects:
PHD221: Women’s Leadership and Empowerment Training (8 EC)
PHD222: Gender-sensitive project management and career development strategies (Online) (4 EC)
The subject assessment and delivery plan (SDAP)/Syllabus for each of the above-mentioned electives can be found in the link to the subject codes.
If you are interested in enrolling in this subject, please submit a letter of motivation for these specific subjects to phd@wmu.se with your main supervisor's approval and signature by 29 August 2025 at the latest.
