News from the SkillSea project
Participants in the SkillSea project (Futureproof Skills for the Maritime Transport Sector) prepared a newsletter in which the results of previous research were published. The project lasts until the end of 2022, when the project stakeholders (26 partners from 16 countries) will produce a number of documents with a common goal: to encourage cooperation at European level to develop education for future seafarers and acquire new skills needed in the maritime industry. By analyzing the current situation, ie the current skills of seafarers as well as future skills needed for their professional development, a strategy and a better educational plan for seafarers will be developed. This will ensure a sustainable solution to the qualitative and quantitative mismatch between labor supply and demand, which should lead to greater labor mobility.
