Maritime Training Centre and Long-life Learning – SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Special Education Program (Posebni program obrazovanja) is based on the Ordinance on Ranks and Certification of Seafarers (Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia issue no. 130 of 2013, as amended).

Courses description
• Course description - Special education program for the purpose of acquiring the rank of chief mate on a ship of 3,000 GT or more (PDF)
  The Special Education Program, after completion of education and passing all the exams, is one of the requirements for acquiring the certificate of competence to act in the capacity of a chief engineer of a ship having a propulsive power of 3000 kW, or more (STCW III/2).
  
• Course description - Special education program for the purpose of obtaining the rank of second engineer officer on a ship of 3,000 kW propulsion power or more (PDF)
  The Special Education Program, after completion of education and passing all the exams, is one of the requirements for acquiring The certificate of competence to act in the capacity of a chief engineer of a ship having a propulsive power of 3000 kW, or more (STCW III/2).

The first part of the Program usually begins on the first Monday of September and lasts until the middle of December.
The second part usually begins on the first Monday of April of the following year and lasts until the middle of July.

Enrollment in the Special Education Program
• Application form;
• Registration form;
• a copy of the certificate of secondary school education in the nautical or marine engineering field;
• Port Authority confirmation proving the necessary seagoing service in accordance with the Ordinance on Certificates (Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia, 130 of 2013, as amended)
• a copy of the certificate of competence;
• a copy of the identity card;
• Two photos for documents;
