COMMITTEE FOR SCIENCE AND DOCTORAL STUDIES
The Committee for Science and Doctoral Studies consists of: the Vice-Dean for Scientific Research, serving as the Chair of the Committee; the Head of the Doctoral Study Programme; and the Heads of the Doctoral Study Programme Modules.
The duties of the Committee are:
- managing the doctoral study programme,
- determining the list of candidates for admission to the programme and submitting it to the Faculty Council for a final decision on the approval of enrolment,
- proposing the “Maritime Studies” Doctoral Programme and its amendments and supplements to the Faculty Council,
- reviewing, analysing and evaluating the implementation of the Programme,
- reviewing the Annual Report on the doctoral study and submitting it to the Faculty Council for adoption,
- analysing the annual reports of supervisors and doctoral candidates,
- proposing supervisors and co-supervisors to the Faculty Council,
- proposing to the Faculty Council the composition of committees for the evaluation and defence of the thesis topic and the doctoral dissertation,
- performing other tasks in accordance with the Regulations.
